Curated Content Sources
What is Curated Content?
Content
curation is the task of building up a collection of content from other people (Bird,
2021). Using curated content in marketing is a great way of providing your
followers with relevant material that aligns with your product/service or brand.
But why and how is this useful? Bird (2021) lists three main benefits to
content curation: it’s an easy way to source content without having to create
it yourself; marketing shouldn’t be ‘all about your brand, and it encourages
thought leaders. Not only that, but using curated content is a huge time saver
which we all know as marketers, is extremely precious!
An effective marketing strategy should include both curated and created content. According to Carter (2021), curated curated content can “improve your reputation, attract more people to your website and ultimately score more conversion”.

BuzzSumo
BuzzSumo is a curated content tool which allows users to search for relevant articles that you can share to your own channels. The great thing about it is you can analyze popular content based on a search for keywords or topics. The benefits include robust searches, data exports, social media insights and competitor alerts (Featured Customers, 2021).
Buzz Sumo is super user friendly with easy to navigate task bars where you can discover trending content; analyse top performing content across social media pages, and find the most influential content across various channels (See task bars)
Pinterest is a platform where you can discover new interests by searching a collection of images and sites from other users (Moreau, 2021). Pinterest is the kind of platform people go to when they are searching for inspiration and ideas, with the ability to organise your favourite images, and click on the image to go directly to the source. For example, if you are looking for Christmas recipes, you can click on the image and it will take you to the web page to get the recipe. It is a great tool for people looking to develop ‘vision boards’ and alike (Moreau, 2021).It has social abilities enabling you to share ideas and private message with other users of similar interests.
